Jennifer’s Story
I’m a nurse, doula, educator, birth photographer, and mother. When I started my business in 2011, I saw an opportunity to “fuse” all these passions, and Birth Fusion was born.
I’ve supported over 350 births as a doula and many more as a nurse. I’ve taught hundreds of childbirth classes and taken thousands of photos as a birth photographer. I’ve attended births at most facilities across the Greater Sacramento Region and have helped families labor at their homes in nearly every town in our region.
As a doula, I trust in the human spirit and believe every woman has the natural ability to give birth in their own way. As a nurse, I know medicine has its place, and I see my role as guiding and supporting families as they discover what works best for them.

Doula Services
Doula Services
Since 2011, I have worked as a professional doula, offering nursing care and labor support to families in the Sacramento and Bay Area. Each doula brings their own style and beliefs to supporting physiologic birth. Choosing a doula is a personal journey for every couple. I invite you to explore my services and see how I can help make your birth experience memorable.
Birth Photography
“Birth is an experience that demonstrates that life is not merely function and utility, but form and beauty.”
Childbirth is made up of thousands of seconds of beauty while the human spirit fights the hardest battle it will ever face.
Photography can tell the story in a way that no words can.

Labor at home and hospital
A typical birth is filled with quiet, intimate moments. The person giving birth leans on their parents for emotional support. Partners offer physical help or simply a hand to hold. Women move around the room, the house, or even the backyard, tired but with a twinkle in their eyes, knowing they are doing something monumental. Nurses provide information, support, and reassurance to make sure everyone feels safe.

Birth itself
This is the moment everyone waits for. Birth partners usually can’t capture those first moments of their child’s, grandchild’s, sister’s, or best friend’s birth. They are too busy taking it all in, amazed by what’s happening, or hiding “north of the equator”. Letting someone else handle the camera means you can keep those special memories forever. We take photos of every first of our baby’s life, so why not the first breath?

The Golden Hour and breastfeeding
A lot happens right after your baby is born. You count fingers and toes. You wonder whose eyes they have. You watch your new baby bob their head up and down on your chest, searching for the breast as if they already know how. These moments pass quickly, and you can’t get them back. Photos can help you remember the happiness of this day.
